Fantastic concert: The Dave Holland Quintet at the Bimhuis, Amsterdam

Last night at the Bimhuis in Amsterdam: the Dave Holland Quintet featuring Robin Eubanks on trombone, Chris Potter on saxophone and clarinet, Steve Nelson on vibes, Nate Smith on drums and Dave Holland on bass. The Bimhuis was packed and for a reason, what a fantastic concert!!  Very inspiring, lyrical jazz. The culminating point for me was the song ‘Valley of Tears’ with a beautiful combination of sax and trombone..

I heard Chris Potter already play at the Bimhuis with his band Underground on May 10, 2010 (with Nate Smith on drums) and also with the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw on January 28, 2010 so this was the third time this year and you may consider me a fan. A big fan!
